June 26 – July 9, 2013: The food. It’s the real reason people go to Italy, right? We certainly weren’t disappointed. From the huge continental breakfast spreads put out each morning at our hotel, to fresh mixed salads or enticing seafood pastas at lunch, the little nibbles like bruschetta or olives or pizza bites that just appear on your table in the late afternoon and ruin your appetite, to the appetizers, primis, secondis and mains at dinner. Not to mention the pizzas and the desserts and the wines and the coffees and the gelato and the pastries, and the markets selling fresh fruit and vegetables and meats and seafood and everything in between.
